Philip King


Pastor Philip comes to us from North Carolina where he served as Associate Pastor of Education & Administration at Intentional Love Baptist Church. Prior to being called into the ministry, Philip served in the US Army and in Law Enforcement for the State of North Carolina. Following his calling, Philip prepared for ministry by attending Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received a Master of Divinity. He has also completed a Doctor of Ministry degree. 
He has been married for over 20 years and has two children. He has a passion for making and maturing disciples of Jesus Christ by teaching and leading. He has a vision to lead Calvary to impact the Winchester area and beyond for the kingdom of God.
His life verse is: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you” (Matthew 6:33).

Derek Wheelock

NextGen Pastor

Pastor Derek comes to us from right here in Winchester. Before coming to Calvary Baptist, Derek served as the Youth Pastor at Shenandoah Valley Baptist Church in Stephens City, Va. He also was on staff at Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy as their Dean of Students. Derek studied at Liberty University where he received his bachelor's degree in Youth Ministry.
He has been married for 12 years and has three boys. Derek enjoys spending time with his family, and doing anything outdoors. His passion is to reach our next generation with the Gospel of Christ and train our youth through discipleship.

His life verse is, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21)

Kristi Rock

Church and Financial Secretary

Kristi and her family have been members of Calvary Baptist church since 2011. She and her husband Charles have been married 25 years and have 4 children. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech.

Her Life verse is, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.(James 1:2-4)
